Getting started

4 questions
  • What is Luxe?

Luxe is a Shopify app for selling in sets. It adds bundle sets, a rewards ladder with a gift the shopper chooses, upsells and a cart drawer to your Online Store.

One pricing engine prices the builder, the cart and checkout, so the price a shopper sees is the price they pay. It works the same for skincare, coffee, candles, apparel, supplements, pet, food and more.

  • What does setup involve?

Four steps: install Luxe from the Shopify App Store, turn on the Luxe app embed in the theme editor, publish a bundle set, and check it on your storefront. Home shows a setup guide until your first Luxe order arrives.

Each bundle set has a Go live card. Add to theme opens the theme editor on the set's product page with the Bundle set builder block already added.

  • Do I need to edit my theme's code?

No. Luxe is built as a theme app extension: app blocks and one app embed, placed in the theme editor. Luxe never edits your theme's code and never asks you to, and removing Luxe leaves your theme as it was.

  • Where do I start?

From a template. Luxe has 88: 63 bundle sets grouped by industry, 14 rewards ladders and 11 upsells. Each becomes an ordinary set, ladder or upsell you can change. Buy X get Y free makes a good first set, and starting from scratch works too.

Bundle sets

6 questions
  • What kinds of bundle set can I sell?

Three. A Build-your-own set: the shopper fills slots in the Bundle set builder on the set's product page, numbered or named with Label each slot. A Collection set: the shopper adds items from your real collection page into a tray. A Fixed set: a curated set at one price, with one add button.

All three share one editor and one pricing engine.

  • Can I run Buy 4 get 2 free?

Yes, two ways. Per-slot rules: give a Build-your-own set six slots and mark the last two Free; the builder shows a Free badge on them. The slot a pick lands in decides what is free.

Cheapest item free: set Items per set to 3, and for every three picks the least expensive is free, or takes your percentage off, whatever order the shopper picks in. Six picks discount the two least expensive: Buy 4 get 2 free.

  • How can a set be priced?

Build-your-own sets: Set price (optionally with Premium picks cost more), Percent off items, Amount off the set, Save more with more (up to 5 tiers), Per-slot rules, or Cheapest item free. Fixed sets: Set price, Percent off items or Amount off the set.

Collection sets: a fixed price for the set, a percentage off, or Rewards only, where the set's own tiers set the savings. Your discount codes apply on top, unless you exclude the set product from a code.

  • Will checkout charge what the builder shows?

Yes. The builder, the cart drawer, the admin preview and Shopify checkout run the same pricing engine and agree to the cent. The storefront predicts; only Luxe's checkout functions, on Shopify's side, set the price.

One case to know: a shopper who buys without choosing (your theme's add-to-cart, an AI agent, JavaScript off) gets the default picks at the set product's price. The editor's Preview shows both prices and aligns them with one button; with Set price they are always the same.

  • What is the tier progress bar?

A Collection set can reward shoppers tier by tier as the set grows: free shipping from the first item, 10% off at three, 15% off at five. The tier progress bar shows each tier, the next step and what is unlocked, and the tray's total already includes the savings checkout applies.

Place it in the tray, stacked above the tray, at the top of the page, or at the top of the page and sticky.

  • Can shoppers change a set after adding it?

Yes. In the Luxe cart drawer every set line has Edit set: the builder reopens with the current picks, and Update set replaces the set at the same quantity. If the update fails, the original set is restored.

With your theme's own cart, Luxe adds Edit set to each set line on the cart page, with no theme code.

Rewards & gifts

3 questions
  • What is a rewards ladder?

A visible reason to add one more item: 2 items, free shipping; 3 items, a gift of the shopper's choice; 4 items, 15% off. A ladder has up to 10 rungs and counts sets, items or the subtotal.

Rewards are free shipping, percent off, amount off, a free gift or a message. Every reward is applied at Shopify checkout through one automatic discount, Luxe Rewards.

  • Is the free gift added for the shopper?

No. Luxe never puts a gift in the cart without the shopper choosing it; with a single gift option it is one tap. The gift is free only while its rung is met, and never counts toward its own rung.

If the shopper removes items and the rung is lost, Luxe takes the gift out and shows how many items unlock it again.

  • Do rewards stack with my discount codes?

You decide, once for the store, in Settings > Checkout and pricing > Discount combinations. Every ladder, Collection set and discounted upsell runs through the single Luxe Rewards discount, so Luxe uses one of the 25 automatic discount functions a store can run.

When several rungs are met, the highest money reward and free shipping apply, and every met gift rung counts.

Upsells

3 questions
  • Which upsells does Luxe offer?

On the product page: Frequently bought together, Pairs well with, Quantity breaks, Make it a set and Refill pairing. In the Luxe cart: You may also like, Gift-ready add-on and the Tier gap filler, which closes the gap to the next reward. Inside the builder: Upgrade in the set. A checkout offer of 1 to 3 products can show when the shopper chooses Checkout.

Nothing is ever pre-ticked: every item needs the shopper's tap, and the checkout offer's No thanks goes straight to checkout.

  • Do accepted upsells count as Luxe orders?

Yes. A product accepted from an upsell you published, or from the checkout offer, is a Luxe-built line, so its order is a Luxe order, billed like an order with a bundle set. Views and clicks are never billed.

Starter includes one active upsell without a discount. Growth, Pro and Enterprise run up to 50 active upsells, 16 of them with a discount.

  • Is an upsell's price the price at checkout?

Yes. Upsell discounts run through the same Luxe Rewards discount as your Collection sets and ladders, priced by the same engine, so the price a card shows is the price checkout charges. The upsell editor's Preview shows the storefront card and that price.

Cart drawer

3 questions
  • Do I have to use the Luxe cart drawer?

No. Your store starts with your theme's own cart and the Rewards bar block for ladder progress; on the cart page Luxe adds Edit set to each set line. Both carts sell sets at the same price and apply the same rewards at checkout.

The Luxe cart drawer adds what a theme's drawer cannot hold: grouped set lines, rewards progress, the gift choice and cart upsells, in a layout you arrange across five zones.

  • Does the drawer work with my other apps?

Luxe finds supported apps on your live theme and places their widgets in the drawer: Route, Navidium and Rebuy, or your own HTML. Package protection never counts toward rewards unless you turn that on, and its fee is listed as its own line by default.

  • Will the drawer's totals match checkout?

Yes. The drawer shows totals exactly as Shopify reports them. It never shows a shipping rate or a tax amount: Shipping reads Free once the free shipping rung is unlocked, otherwise Calculated at checkout. If its own prediction ever differs from Shopify's, it shows Shopify's number.

Pricing & billing

9 questions
  • What is a Luxe order?

A paid order with at least one line Luxe built: an item of a bundle set built by Luxe, or a product accepted from a published upsell or the checkout offer. It is one Luxe order however many sets it holds and whatever it is worth.

Free gifts are never Luxe-built, and an order the rewards bar only influenced is never billed.

  • What do the plans cost?

Starter is free: 1 bundle set, 1 ladder and 50 Luxe orders a month. Growth is $29 a month and Pro $79 a month, with one shared fee: 100 Luxe orders included each billing cycle, then $0.30 each up to 1,000, $0.20 up to 5,000 and $0.10 above 5,000. Enterprise is custom pricing: talk to sales.

Each rate applies only to the orders in its band: 2,000 Luxe orders cost $29 + 900 × $0.30 + 1,000 × $0.20 = $499 on Growth. Shopify bills it in US dollars on your Shopify invoice, whatever your store's currency.

  • Is there a monthly maximum?

Yes, by volume. Luxe orders above 30,000 in a month are free on Growth and Pro, so the fee stops growing there. Those orders still appear in Billing, marked Free above the ceiling.

  • Growth or Pro?

They charge the same fee per Luxe order, so Pro costs $50 a month more. Pro adds the AI suite (Set Composer, Complete my set with AI, the Rewards advisor summary and Auto-tag for your whole catalog) and 12 months of analytics instead of 90 days.

  • How does the free trial work?

Growth and Pro each have a 14-day trial. Orders paid during the trial are never billed and do not use the included orders. Each paid plan's trial applies once per store, including across reinstalls.

Plan changes, proration and approval happen on Shopify's own plan page.

  • Do subscription renewals count?

Yes. A subscription renewal order that includes a Luxe set is a Luxe order, billed the same way as any other Luxe order.

  • What happens with refunds?

When every Luxe-built line of an order is refunded, cancelled or disputed, its fee is reversed automatically, as a credit in your current billing period. A partial refund leaves the fee: the order was still a Luxe order. Credits are never paid out in cash.

  • Which orders are never billed?

Test orders and every order on a development store, draft orders, Point of Sale and B2B orders, orders paid during a trial, Luxe orders above 30,000 in a cycle, and every order on Starter.

Billing lists every order Luxe recorded, how it was billed and why, and exports to CSV.

  • What happens when I reach a Starter limit?

Nothing stops selling. New bundle sets and ladders save as drafts with an upgrade banner; everything already live keeps selling.

Luxe AI

4 questions
  • What does Luxe AI do?

On Growth: Write with AI for set titles, descriptions and slot labels, plus Suggest filters and Auto-tag for Product filters. On Pro, also Set Composer, which drafts bundle sets from a brief, Complete my set with AI on the storefront, and the Rewards advisor summary.

AI is off until you turn it on. Nothing goes live without your review, except Complete my set, which only chooses among the set's own in-stock items and is labelled as AI.

  • What does Luxe AI send, and to whom?

AI requests are processed by Anthropic, from Luxe's servers, and carry only what you allow in Settings: product titles, descriptions, prices and availability, your filter definitions, one image per item, store-level counts and your brand voice.

Never sent: customer names, emails, addresses or IDs, order IDs or line details, or your store's domain. Nothing is used to train any model. AI job inputs and results are kept for 90 days, then reduced to usage totals.

  • Can I use my own AI provider?

Yes, for Complete my set on Pro and Enterprise. Pro includes 1,500 AI suggestions a month; past that, typed shopper requests can run on your own key with Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini or OpenRouter. The key is stored encrypted and never shown again.

AI in the Luxe admin always runs on Luxe AI. With your own key, your provider processes those requests under your own account.

  • Does AI cost extra?

No. AI is included in the plan price and is never a charge. Fair-use allowances are counted in actions, for example 20 Write with AI drafts a week on Growth and 120 on Pro, and Settings shows what is left. Starter has Smart picks for Complete my set and no AI.

Themes & speed

7 questions
  • Which themes does Luxe work with?

Luxe is placed with app blocks in Online Store 2.0 themes, with Horizon and Dawn as the launch themes. Colours, fonts, buttons and corners for every Luxe surface come from the Brand settings in the app embed.

Themes from before Online Store 2.0 cannot hold the Bundle set builder on product pages; sets still sell with their default picks, and the Luxe cart drawer and Collection sets work through the app embed.

  • Will Luxe slow down my store?

The storefront core stays at or under 15 KB gzipped, measured on every build, with no framework. The builder, picker, tray, drawer and rewards bar each load as their own files, only on the pages that use them.

  • What if the app embed is off, or JavaScript is blocked?

Your theme and checkout keep working, with no errors. Set products sell through your theme's add-to-cart and are expanded at checkout into their default picks at the set product's price; ladder money and shipping rewards still apply. Free gifts cannot be chosen, and Collection set items sell individually at full price.

With JavaScript blocked, the Bundle set builder renders a plain form that adds the set with its default picks and lists what is included.

  • What happens if I uninstall Luxe?

Every product stays purchasable. Shopify removes Luxe's blocks, app embed, checkout pricing and the Luxe Rewards discount; set products stay as normal products at their own price, and your theme renders as it did before. Luxe never deletes products or orders.

Shopify asks Luxe to delete your store's data 48 hours after uninstall. Reinstall before then and your sets, ladders and billing history are still there.

  • Does Luxe work with Shopify Markets and other currencies?

Yes. Ladder thresholds and fixed amounts are set in your store currency and converted at Shopify's rate, and the bar can show them in the shopper's currency. Sets priced from their items convert your store prices; a market's own fixed prices do not change those sets, so use Set price where market prices matter.

Storefront words can be set for each language; a blank field keeps Luxe's wording in that language.

  • Can a set be sold on subscription?

Coming soon. Subscription sets are planned for a future release: you will choose, when you build a bundle set, whether it can be sold on subscription. Today bundle sets sell as one-time purchases: Luxe does not activate a set whose set product offers a subscription, and subscription-only products cannot be set items or gifts. Your subscription products sell beside your sets as usual, and the Luxe cart shows each subscription line with its delivery plan.

If your subscription app copies a set's line properties onto its renewal orders, those renewals are Luxe orders, billed like any other. The Luxe Rewards discount applies to a subscription's first order only.

  • Does Luxe work with Shopify B2B?

Yes. By default Luxe steps aside for buyers ordering for a company: they see your theme's price and buy buttons, pay each set product's price in their catalog and get no Luxe rewards. Or choose Treat B2B buyers like everyone else in Settings. B2B orders are never billed.

Data & privacy

3 questions
  • What shopper data does Luxe keep?

As little as it can. Luxe asks Shopify for Level 1 protected customer data only, with no names, emails, phone numbers or addresses, and keeps only the order fields it needs to record which lines it built. Billing records hold no personal data, and logs never contain webhook bodies.

  • Who processes data for Luxe?

Luxe's hosting provider and managed database, and Anthropic for Luxe AI, only when you turn AI on. An AI provider you connect yourself is your processor, under your own account, not Luxe's. The subprocessors page lists each one with its purpose and location.

  • How long is data kept?

AI job inputs and results: 90 days, then usage totals only. Storefront analytics events: 365 days. Deleted sets and ladders: 30 days. Shopify's customer and shop redaction requests are handled automatically, and when Shopify asks after an uninstall, everything Luxe holds for your store is deleted, the billing ledger included.

Accessibility

2 questions
  • Is Luxe accessible?

Luxe's storefront components target WCAG 2.1 AA, the level EN 301 549 references for the European Accessibility Act, and aim at WCAG 2.2 AA. Every build runs automated axe checks on 39 storefront states, plus keyboard, focus, 44 px touch targets, 320 px reflow and reduced motion.

  • Can my brand colours break contrast?

Luxe holds contrast under every palette preset and corrects your brand colours to 4.5:1 where it can. Your own content stays yours to check: alt text on product images, the labels you write and custom colours.
