Theme cart or Luxe cart
Your store starts with your theme's own cart. Both carts sell bundle sets at the same price and apply the same rewards at checkout; the difference is what shoppers see before checkout.
- Open Cart. The page compares the two carts and shows a preview of the Luxe cart.
- Select Use the Luxe cart. The confirmation lists what changes and shows whether the Luxe app embed is on (the Luxe cart needs it).
- Select Use the Luxe cart again. The drawer opens when a shopper adds to cart or taps the cart icon; your theme's cart page stays available at /cart.
To go back, open Cart > More actions > Use the theme cart, or Settings > Storefront > Cart mode.
Buyers ordering for a company (Shopify B2B) always get your theme's cart, with Shopify's quantity rules, volume prices and payment terms, unless Settings > Checkout and pricing > B2B buyers treats them like everyone else.
Arrange the layout
The header, the items and the summary with the checkout button are fixed. Everything else is a module in one of five zones: Above the items, Below the items, Above checkout, Below checkout and Empty bag.
- Drag a row by its handle, or use its actions menu: Settings, Move up, Move down, Move to another zone, Remove. A zone that cannot take a module says why.
- Switch a module off without removing it.
- Choose a row to open its settings in a window over the page. Changes show in the preview as you make them; Done (or Esc) closes the window and keeps them until you save or discard.
- Add module lists every module with the zones it fits.
- Select Save in the bar at the top. Unsaved changes are kept if you reload, until you save or discard them.
| Module | What shoppers see |
|---|---|
| Announcement | One line of your text, optionally a link; two or three messages rotate, with a pause button |
| Rewards ladder, Gift picker | Progress toward your rewards and the free gift choice (set up in Rewards) |
| Upsells | Your cart upsells, placed where you want them: the gap filler to the next reward, You may also like cards, add-ons such as gift wrap (never ticked for the shopper) and refills. What each one offers is set in Upsells |
| Order note | A note field that saves to the order |
| Discount code | A code field; Shopify decides whether a code applies |
| Trust line | Up to three short lines with icons |
| Payment icons | The payment methods your checkout accepts |
| Message, Link | The empty bag's message and a link back to your store |
Upsells in the cart
Upsells decides what the cart offers; the Upsells module decides where it shows. Create and edit cart upsells in Upsells (You may also like, Add-on, Gift-ready add-on, Tier gap filler, Refill pairing), then add the Upsells module to Below the items or Above checkout. Its settings list your cart upsells with a link to each. Without the module, cart upsells don't show, and both pages say so.
The Recommendations and Add-on modules are retired. If your cart had them, Luxe turned each into an upsell (Recommendations into You may also like, Add-on into an Add-on with the same product and label) and put one Upsells module in their place; on Luxe Starter, which includes one active upsell, any beyond it are saved as drafts. An Add-on's Exclude from rewards is now in each ladder's Excluded products. Accepted upsells make an order a Luxe order, as bundle sets do (see Plans and billing).
The checkout offer stays here on the Cart page. Upsells lists it too, read-only, with a link back.
Other apps in the Luxe cart
Integrations shows the apps Luxe finds on your live theme and places their widgets in the drawer. Nothing loads in the admin: the preview shows a placeholder, and Open on storefront shows the real widget.
- Route: select Set up, then copy
#luxe-checkout-anchorinto Route's app embed setting Checkout Button Selector in the theme editor. Route's widget appears above the subtotal. Keep it opt-in. - Navidium: select Set up and choose Navidium's protection product.
- Rebuy: enter your widget ID from Rebuy > Widgets.
- Custom HTML: your own HTML, up to 4 KB. Scripts and event handlers are removed when you save.
- Another app: under Using an app we don't list?, select Request an integration and tell us which one. Luxe never asks you to edit your theme's code.
Package protection never counts toward your rewards ladder unless you switch on Count protection toward rewards, so a protection fee never unlocks free shipping or a gift. The protection fee is listed in the bag as its own line by default, so shoppers see what they are charged. Hide the line from the bag (off by default) keeps it out of the list; the fee always stays in the subtotal. To keep other products out of a ladder (a donation, a membership fee), add them to Excluded products in the ladder editor.
Drawer copy and appearance
- Drawer copy sets the title, the empty-bag message, the checkout button and the footer note. Leave a field blank to use Luxe's wording in each store language. These are the same fields as Settings > Storefront > Storefront words.
- Appearance shows the Luxe Brand settings from your live theme (accent, fonts). Change them with Edit in theme editor.
Preview
The preview is the real Luxe cart with a sample bag, in your Brand settings. Switch between Desktop and Mobile, and use Cart state to see an empty bag, a gift unlocked, every reward unlocked or a bag with protection. Select a module in the preview to open its settings. Expand opens the editor full screen with both sizes side by side.
Order summary
The summary above Checkout shows Subtotal, You save, Shipping, Taxes and Estimated total. On the Cart page, choose Order summary in Layout to reorder the lines, turn any off, or rename them.
- You save counts set savings, sale prices (compare-at) and Luxe Rewards (free gifts at their value, rewards discounts, the checkout offer). Discount codes are never counted: Shopify applies them at checkout.
- Shipping reads Free only once your Rewards ladder's free shipping rung is unlocked; otherwise Calculated at checkout, or your own note. Luxe never shows a shipping rate.
- Taxes reads Included in markets whose prices include tax, otherwise Calculated at checkout. Luxe never shows a tax amount.
- Unlock free shipping suggests one product that closes the gap to free shipping, with an Add button.
Empty bag
When the bag is empty, the drawer shows your Empty bag modules under the rewards bar: a message and button, collection tiles (2 to 6), a promo for one live bundle set (hidden while it is paused) and recommended products (your best sellers, or 2 to 4 you pick, with quick add).
Checkout offer
Turn on Checkout offer on the Cart page to offer 1 to 3 products when a shopper chooses Checkout.
- Choose the products, and optionally a percentage off or a fixed price. Luxe applies the price at checkout to the offer line only.
- Write the heading, subheading and button words.
- Choose when it shows (always, when the bag holds certain products or collections, or within a subtotal range) and how often (once per session by default).
- Choose Popup on Checkout (a bottom sheet on phones) or Inline row above Checkout.
The offer is never pre-selected: shoppers tick it to add it, and No thanks, closing it or pressing Escape goes straight to checkout. If anything goes wrong, checkout carries on without the offer. An order that includes the offer is a Luxe order, as with any add-on from a Luxe offer. The offer shows in the Luxe cart drawer only, not on your theme's cart page. Performance shows views, accepts and the extra revenue from paid orders over the last 30 days.
