II · By category

Kit ideas, by category.

A product kit is a set of items sold as one product: a starter kit, a routine kit, a brew kit or a refill kit. In Luxe a kit is a bundle set. A Fixed set holds a kit whose contents never change; a Build-your-own set makes a custom kit the shopper completes. Either way the kit sells as one product, Shopify checkout charges the price shown, and the order lists every item with its own SKU.

A kit sold through Luxe is a normal product, so it stays purchasable everywhere, including AI shopping channels. Shoppers who buy it without choosing, through your theme's own add-to-cart button or with JavaScript off, get the default items at the kit's price. When an item sells out, the next item on your fallback list takes its place, and the kit is flagged in the admin if a group can no longer be filled.

Kits questions, briefly.

Is a kit the same as a bundle?

In Luxe, yes: a kit is a bundle set sold as one product. The admin calls it a bundle set; your storefront calls it whatever your customers do.

How does a kit show in my ERP or 3PL?

Each item arrives as its own order line with its own SKU, grouped under the kit's product. Give every item and the kit's product a SKU.

Does selling a kit lower the items' stock?

Yes. Orders take stock from the items, never from the kit's product, so the items' counts stay right.

Can a kit include something free?

Yes. An item always included can be charged at its own price, free or at a fixed amount, such as a free pouch or a sample.

Can a kit be a subscription?

Not today. Bundle sets sell as one-time purchases, and Luxe will not activate a set whose product offers a subscription.

Do kits work with Shopify Markets?

Yes. A kit priced with Set price charges the kit product's price, which Markets can set per market; kits priced from their items use your store prices converted to the shopper's currency.

What happens to my kits if I uninstall Luxe?

Each kit's product stays a normal product at its own price, and your theme keeps working as it did.

Which plan do I need?

Any. Luxe Starter is free with one active bundle set. Growth is $29 a month and Pro $79 a month, each with a 14-day trial, more sets and a fee per Luxe order after the 100 included.
