The app embed is off
Symptoms: no bundle set builder on set product pages, no tray on collection pages, no rewards bar or Luxe cart drawer.
Check: Settings > Storefront > App embed shows On or Off for your live theme; Home's setup guide shows the same step.
Fix: select Turn on in theme editor (on Home's setup guide: Enable in theme editor), switch Luxe on under App embeds, and save. If you changed or duplicated your theme, the new theme needs the embed switched on too, and the Bundle set builder and Rewards bar blocks added again.
What still works with the embed off:
| Feature | With the embed off |
|---|---|
| Your theme and checkout | Unchanged, no errors |
| Set products | Sell through your theme's own add-to-cart. Checkout expands them into the default picks at the set product's price |
| Rewards ladder money and shipping rewards | Still apply at checkout |
| Free gifts | Cannot be chosen |
| Collection sets | Products sell individually at full price |
Prices look different
Luxe's builder, cart drawer and checkout use the same pricing engine, so for the same items they agree to the cent. When a number differs, it is almost always one of these:
| What you see | Why | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| The bundle set sells at the set product's price instead of the builder's price | The shopper bought without choosing (theme add-to-cart, an AI agent, JavaScript off), so the default picks were used at the set product's price | In the bundle set editor, compare Checkout will charge with the set product's price and use the Preview's price button to align them. With Set price they are always the same |
| An item costs slightly less inside a set than on its own page, in another currency | Inside a set, item prices are converted from your store currency; on the product page Shopify Markets may show a rounded or fixed local price | Expected. The set's price itself matches at checkout |
| A discount code does not apply, or applies on top | Combinations are one store-wide setting | Settings > Checkout and pricing > Discount combinations |
| A ladder rung counts differently than expected | Subtotal rungs count after set pricing and before other apps' discounts; gift lines never count; incomplete collection sets do not count toward set quantity | Check the ladder's What the ladder counts and the preview |
| A free gift is charged | Its rung was no longer met at checkout (for example, items removed with JavaScript off) | Expected: Luxe never gives a gift away below its rung |
| The bundle set shows its set product only, not its items, and the order is flagged for manual fulfilment | The picks were invalid or the checkout extension failed, so the set product sold unexpanded at its own price | Fulfil the flagged order by hand; the set's picks are on the order line |
| The set's page shows "Page not found", or adding the set says "Your bag didn't update" | The set product is not on your Online Store sales channel | In the bundle set editor's Go live, select Publish now. If Luxe asks for permission, reload the app and approve it |
| A B2B buyer pays a different price for a bundle set, sees no builder, or gets no rewards | Luxe steps aside for buyers ordering for a company: they pay the set product's price in their catalog, through your theme's buy buttons, with no Luxe rewards | Expected. Price the set product in your B2B catalogs, or change Settings > Checkout and pricing > B2B buyers |
| Checkout pricing pending or Luxe Rewards discount pending in the admin | Luxe's checkout extensions are not active yet on this store | The set product sells at its own price until the notice clears; contact support if it persists |
The Luxe cart drawer always shows totals exactly as Shopify reports them. If it ever detects a difference between its prediction and Shopify's, it records it for our team and shows Shopify's number.
Theme compatibility
Luxe is built as a Shopify theme app extension: Luxe never edits your theme's code and never asks you to, and removing Luxe leaves your theme as it was. Everything is placed with app blocks and the app embed in the theme editor.
| Surface | Horizon | Dawn and other Online Store 2.0 themes |
|---|---|---|
| Bundle set builder | Bundle set builder block in the product information section | Bundle set builder block in the main product section |
| Add to set on collection cards | Add to bundle set block inside the product card | Added to product cards automatically by the Luxe embed |
| Collection tray, cart drawer | Luxe app embed | Luxe app embed |
| Rewards progress in the theme cart | Rewards bar block | Rewards bar block |
Launch themes: Horizon and Dawn.
If something looks wrong on your theme:
- Add to set does not appear on product cards. Your theme's cards may not use standard product links. Add the Add to bundle set block to the product card if your theme allows app blocks there, or contact support with your theme's name.
- The cart drawer conflicts with your theme's cart. Switch Settings > Storefront > Cart mode to Theme cart with the Rewards bar. Your theme's cart returns immediately.
- The Luxe drawer does not open from the cart icon. Some themes use custom cart triggers. Contact support with your theme's name; the theme's own cart page keeps working meanwhile.
- Styling. Colours, fonts, buttons, corners and badges for every Luxe surface are the Brand settings in the Luxe app embed; blocks carry no style settings of their own (Brand and style).
- After a theme update. Blocks stay in place because they are app blocks. If a block is missing, add it again in the theme editor.
- A vintage theme (Debut, Brooklyn, Narrative and other themes from before Online Store 2.0) cannot hold app blocks on product pages, so the Bundle set builder cannot be added; Luxe says so on Home and in each bundle set's Go live card. Bundle sets still sell with their house selection through the theme's Add to cart, and the Luxe cart drawer (with rewards and gift choice inside it) and collection sets work through the app embed. To offer the Bundle set builder, move to an Online Store 2.0 theme, or contact support.
Shoppers without JavaScript
The bundle set builder renders a plain form that adds the set with its default picks at the set product's price, and lists what is included. Checkout expands it as usual.
Bundle set orders fail in my ERP or 3PL
Almost always an item without a SKU, or a 0.00 line your ERP refuses. Check the bundle set's Go live card under Orders in your ERP and warehouse, then see Luxe orders in your ERP, warehouse or 3PL for mapping tips per system.
Analytics shows no orders
Analytics counts paid orders with a Luxe line, by the day they were paid. Test orders (Shopify's Bogus Gateway or a payment provider's test mode) are left out unless Settings > Data and integrations > Analytics > Include test orders in Analytics is on. On a development store every checkout is a test order, so the setting starts on there; if it was turned off, turn it on to see your test checkouts. While it is on, Analytics and Home carry an Includes test orders badge so the figures are never mistaken for sales. Billing never changes: a test order is never billed.
