A gift the shopper chooses, without a second app

A free gift rung on the rewards ladder lets the shopper pick the gift. Here is how it works, from the cart to checkout.

The rung

A rewards ladder gives shoppers a reason to add one more item, for example: 2 items, free shipping; 3 items, choose a free gift; 4 items, 15% off. In Rewards, select Create ladder and give a rung the Free gift reward. Each gift rung offers up to 10 gift options, and checkout takes 100% off the gift the shopper chose, up to the rung's quantity, while the rung is met.

Every reward is applied at Shopify checkout through one automatic discount, Luxe Rewards. No second app is involved.

How the shopper chooses

  1. When a shopper reaches a gift rung, the Luxe cart drawer, or the gift picker next to the rewards bar, offers the gifts.
  2. With a single gift option, the shopper adds it with one tap. Luxe never puts a gift in the cart without the shopper choosing it.
  3. The gift is added to the cart and shown as "Free gift". A gift never counts toward its own rung.

When the bag drops below the rung

Checkout makes a gift free only while its rung is met. If the shopper removes items and the rung is lost, Luxe removes the gift and shows how many items unlock it again. If a gift stays in the cart below its rung, for example with JavaScript blocked, checkout charges its normal price rather than giving it away.

Good to know

  • Every gift must be published to your Online Store.
  • Gifts need the app embed, since the shopper chooses them on the storefront. Money and shipping rewards apply at checkout even with the embed off.
  • Gift lines never count toward thresholds, are never part of Luxe-built revenue, and never make an order a Luxe order on their own.
  • Gift cards, Shopify bundles and subscription-only products cannot be gifts.
